Today’s Trivias
Trivia 1
Shirley Jackson’s a famous author who wrote some books ya might know (like for example The Haunting of Hill House) (which had a Netflix series made outta it recently that folks say was real good, although I never got around to seein’ it myself) (which is pretty weird now that I think about it, ’cause that’s exactly the sorta thing that’s right up my alley! I gotta get around to seein’ it I guess).
OK, but here’s the question I have for ya: what “prize” does the “winner” win in Shirley Jackson’s short story “The Lottery”?
I’d like ya to be a least a li’l specific here in yer answer here, if ya could. Like, just as a kinda example, if the prize was a new red Ford F-150 pickup truck (spoiler alert: it wasn’t!) then I’d want ya to answer somethin’ like “a new truck” instead a’ just “a new car”.
Does that make sense? I dunno, maybe that don’t make no sense ... but basically I just want ya to gimme a modicum a’ detail here in yer answer, that’s all.
Trivia 2
Since we’re on the topic a’ eerie ’n’ mysteeeeeeerious stories, what titular color connects some weird wallpaper (in a Charlotte Perkins Gilman story), a kooky king (a Robert W. Chambers collection), an’ a ... uh ... recondite? ... room (a Gaston Leroux novel)? I dunno, it was hard to come up with an R alliteration on that one, sorry.
OK then
