Hi Skeleton Crew,

If ya buy some BlackRock iShares, yer buyin’ shares a’ somethin’ called an Exchange Traded Fund, a.k.a. a ETF.
Nothin’ quite compares to those funny li’l round sprinkles they call nonpareils.
Today’s Questions
Question 1
Between Curtis askin’ ’bout force majeure on Saturday, then me askin’ ’bout nonpareils yesterday, plus that’s not to mention all the French geography we did last week ... why, heck, we got ourselves a li’l Francophile trivia streak going’ on here!
But! Since I do like to keep things mixed up ’round here, maybe let’s move away from France for a bit.
... Heck, matter a’ fact, why don’t we try ’n get AS FAR AWAY from France as we can get???
I found this funny site, they call it the “Antipodes Finder”, it gives ya the place on the exact OPPOSITE side a’ the world from any location ya give it. So like if I type in France, it gives me ...
Huh! Ya know what? I can work with this!
Can ya tell me what’s that li’l archipelago in that picture, near the top a’ the yellowy flipped-upside-down outline a’ France?
It’s a ten-island territory administrated by New Zealand, an’ it’s named after British PM William Pitt the Elder. The archipelagic eponym comes from the earldom that Mr. Pitt was elevated to back in 1766.
Question 2
French antipodes get kinda tricky when ya remember there’s French Guiana. French Guiana’s a favorite among trivia lovers, a’ course, since it gets ya fun facts ya can surprise yer friends with at parties—stuff like “Didja know the longest land border France shares with another country with is with Brazil?” an’ that sorta thing.
But so here’s the antipode picture I get for French Guiana:
The yellowy upside-down-French-Guiana overlaps some islands in Indonesia—includin’ a smidge a’ Ambon, which was HQ for the Dutch East India Company for a hot minute there—that’re part a’ what archipelago that’s situated between the islands a’ Sulawesi, Timor, ’n’ New Guinea?
For this one I’ll accept either the archipelago’s official name OR its colloquial historical name (even though the latter’s also sometimes used for referrin’ to the Zanzibar archipelago, off the coast a’ Tanzania).
OK then
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
(Which is also somethin’ I do on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, ’n’ Friday.)
