Today’s Questions
Question 1
In the movie The Shining, Jack Nicholson famously goes after his wife ’n’ kid with a fireman’s axe ... but in the novel, he actually chases ’em usin’ somethin’ more genteel: a piece a’ equipment used for what sport? The girls in the promo poster for the Heathers musical have got these things slung over their shoulders, too! It’s all very unnervin’ ’n’ menacin’, lemme tell ya.
Question 2
Did I ever tell youse guys ’bout this Japanese curry truck that sometimes posts up near the restaurant? It’s all good, I don’t mind it, we don’t really do anythin’ too curry-like here, I don’t feel like they’re stealin’ our mojo or anythin’. An’ anyways, they serve up this AMAZIN’ curry with li’l fried potato frittery thingies that’re called what?
Ah jeez, I could eat that stuff all day every day! I do love me some Japanese curry, almost near’s much as I like me a tasty taco. But I want ya to tell me the name for the li’l fried potato frittery thingies in there, that’s specifically what I’m lookin’ for. If it helps, the food truck spells it like コロッケ in katakana—but the word’s originally from French, don’tcha know?
OK then
