Miss Marple has herself been portrayed by lotsa folks on stage ’n’ screen—includin’ Margaret Rutherford, Joan Hickson, ’n’ what actor who starred in the 1980 film adaptation a’ The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side? This actor’d go on to become what I think’d be fair to say even BETTER known for playin’ an iconic character who’s sometimes been called “an American Miss Marple”.

Another notable Marple is what actor, whose portrayal a’ the sleuth in the 1985 teevee film Murder with Mirrors ended up bein’ her final screen appearance? That movie aired seven years after she became the first woman to complete the EGOT quadfecta, ’n’ more ’n a half-century (!) after she won her Best Actress Oscar for The Sin of Madelon Claudet.
